Project Resource Manager
This is a high-profile position requiring the ability to interact with executives and staff at all levels across many geographic locations. The Project Resource Manager will engage organizational management expertise, management principles, and communication to help build, coordinate, support, and guide effective resource and workforce allocation across Alinea audit and consulting projects.
The Alinea Group (“Alinea”) is seeking a remote, full time Project/Resource Manager to help us grow and mature our consulting services. As the Project/Resource Manager, you will work closely with leadership and consultants to develop and refine workflow across all Alinea active client projects along with internal initiatives. Duties will include ongoing workforce management, monitoring team productivity, and identifying opportunities for process improvement that have a measurable impact on budget, performance, and staff workload management.
Position Objectives & Essential Duties:
Workforce Planning/Resource Management
Execute the scheduling function within the Consulting business unit which includes maintenance of an up-to-date schedule of current and pending projects, staff allocation, and reporting
Maximize the utilization of our people based on their skills and bandwidthMaximize the utilization of our people based on their skills and bandwidth
Manage scheduling conflicts and determine resolutions, escalate to management as necessary
Report on and analyze resource productivity compared to scheduled time
Meet or coordinate with new hires to explain and demonstrate the scheduling process
Meet and coordinate with consultants on a regular basis to ensure that projects are meeting timelines and projects are being assigned in an equitable manner
Collaborate with management to provide on-going analysis to ensure maximum utilization of employees
Assist with ad hoc reporting and working with Alinea leadership on internal initiatives which may need workplan development and management
Review any variance in forecasted to actual productivity of assigned resources with manager as necessary
Headcount analysis/needs assessment based on forecasted workload
Participate and/or lead internal project tracking conference calls working with lead project consultants and auditors
Qualifications & Competencies:
B.S. or B.A.
3+ years’ experience in public accounting, consulting or other professional services organization in either a scheduling, project management, or client service role3+ years’ experience in public accounting, consulting or other professional services organization in either a scheduling, project management, or client service role
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to maintain tact and diplomacy in difficult situations
Demonstrated ability with customer and internal relationship building and providing on-going exceptional customer service across an organization
Strong leadership skills with the confidence to work independently, as well as being a “team player” and flexible
Strong organizational, time management and logical thinking skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Positive, can-do attitude, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support the partnership’s preferences and priorities
Proficiency in written and verbal communications
Results and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations; capacity for rendering objective business decisions
Strong technical skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel (v-lookups and pivots), web-based applications such as Harvest/Forecast or other scheduling platform, etc.), and propensity for using and learning project management platforms (i.e.., Asana, MS Project, Monday, Slack, etc.)
Position Expectations and Physical Requirements:
Ability to work effectively in a remote office location
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Daily ability to operate a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
Travel by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
Regularly uses visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
Participate in frequent status update calls with Alinea team members and management
This position requires minimal travel
