Jamila Seibel Spotlight
Meet Jamila! She has a strong understanding of the medication use process as it relates to pharmacy operations, 340B integration, patient care, and healthcare outcomes. We’re thankful to have her on our team!
How long have you been a part of the Alinea-Group?
I started with Alinea in 2015.
What brought you to the company?
I have known Shrujal Patel, one of the founding partners, since 1998 when I started pharmacy school. I like to remind people that he was a few years older than me. I worked for Shrujal at CVS as a pharmacy intern for several years while I was in school, and he’s been my friend for a long time.
In 2015, I was working as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital. I was involved in academia and clinical pharmacy practice for approximately 10 years. My husband is a part of active duty military and we started moving around the country every 1-2 years. With the realization that we were moving again, I reached out to Shrujal to see if he could possibly connect me to a hospital in Kansas City. A week later, he offered me a job with Alinea! Having a job that I could do from anywhere meshed perfectly with our mobile lifestyle, so I joined the team immediately.
How do you best describe your role?
Like most of our team, I do a little bit of everything at Alinea. Most frequently, I serve as a lead auditor for compliance reviews, but I am often involved with 340B implementations because of my familiarity and experience with hospital pharmacy operations. I am also involved in Alinea’s project planning and client scheduling, so I interact with most of our clients in some way or another!
What do you enjoy about your work with Alinea?
Partnering with our clients! We work with so many individuals at hospitals and health systems that are smart, caring, and passionate about helping patients. I have learned so much from our clients and I admire their dedication to patient care.
We also have a pretty amazing team. My colleagues at Alinea are more like family than co-workers!
Where did you grow up? As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I grew up in upstate New York in a small town called Clifton Park. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was young because I have always loved animals.
What hobbies or passions keep you grounded?
My husband and I really enjoy traveling. I love seeing and experiencing different cultures, especially the food and art! When I need to relax, I’m usually doing yoga. I’m also a very big animal lover and my dogs are basically like my kids!
Favorite books or music?
Right now, I am obsessing over Hamilton! We went to see the show on Broadway a few weeks ago and I can’t stop listening! I know, a day late and a dollar short, but it really is a great show with some real substance behind the story. AND THE MUSIC!!!… don’t get me started, it’s fabulous!
