This is a full-time, remotely located position that requires exceptional knowledge, experience, and understanding of 340B Program compliance. Applicants must possess 340B audit and operational expertise in the hospital-based mixed-use and inpatient pharmacy settings along with an understanding of outpatient pharmacy and 340B contract pharmacy as it relates to 340B management and compliance. Additionally, experience with 340B split-billing software and EMR patient-level testing, along with an analytical, problem-solving mindset is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is a must.

To maintain and enhance our status as a premier 340B audit and consulting group, the 340B auditor will be asked to engage, develop, and contribute as an integral part of our team as outlined below.
Participate and contribute to weekly team meetings and internal calls to help with coordinating schedules, sharing insights, and additional product/service development
Maintain 340B ACE certification and utilize resources (both internal and external) to improve skillset and business intelligence which contributes to team and individual growth
Participate with Alinea marketing endeavors, including content creation and input
Travel, at times, is required for certain clients. It is expected that the 340B auditor will be able to complete work in a remote setting (whether audit testing, pre- and post-audit work, report development, etc.)
Be open to and seek regular feedback through both informal and annual performance reviews carried out by Alinea management, team members, and peers
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsets required with an openness to ongoing collaboration within a group in addition to Alinea clients (and prospective clients)
Proficiency with Excel and Word (Must have). Specifically, pivot table, VLOOKUP, and XLOOKUP functions
Role & Tasks:
As an Alinea 340B auditor, you will learn, engage, and contribute to proprietary techniques and evolving methodologies in detecting 340B risk and providing timely resolutions for Alinea clients. We offer a collaborative environment and continually look for ways to improve our services. Auditors will identify and trouble shoot issues, leveraging Alinea’s aggregate expertise with the expectation that auditors will be able to conduct 340B audits independently through mentorship, training, and oversight within 6 months of hire.
Alinea’s independent 340B audits are informed through an accretive approach that continues to be redefined and optimized through delivery of audit work, daily knowledge share, HRSA audit participation, Apexus consultation and advisory board participation, and close monitoring of market conditions and changing regulations. Although not limited to the following aptitudes, as Alinea continues to hone and refine its process and skills, Auditors will engage the following tasks in the execution of audit work.
Conduct 340B independent audits which engage the fundamentals, and in many cases exceed the rigor, of current HRSA audit practices
Alinea engages a collaborative approach with clients, providing education and training while performing audit work which allows for hands-on learning and understanding of gold standard 340B monitoring and management
Audits are performed remotely and onsite both independently and with support
Review and assess entities 340B policies and procedures to ensure operational consistency which meets HRSA and Apexus standards
Assist with data requests and accompanying analytics, including understanding and helping maintain updated state Medicaid 340B policies
Utilize Alinea audit workplan software to perform planning, tracking, and execution of audit work elements
Participate and/or lead audit kickoff meetings and ongoing communication such as status reports and follow up to ensure timely delivery of audit results and recommendations for improvement
Utilizing Alinea back-office analytics and expert data analysis, perform patient-level testing to determine medical record documentation meets criteria as an eligible 340B administration or dispense based on site of service and 340B patient definition; e.g., prescription/dispense is written from an eligible clinic or hospital location and patient provision of care must be documented in the EHR
Review and assess drug procurement processes in the mixed-use, outpatient, and contract pharmacy setting with a foundational understanding of 340B split billing software, invoicing, shipping, and inventory management
Experience with either Macro Helix, Sentry, Verity, Omnicell, or Cervey platforms (must have)
Experience with Walgreens, Wellpartner, or other contract pharmacy third-party administrators (preferred but not a must have)
Conduct interviews with key personnel involved with 340B operations including compliance, C-suite, billing and finance, supply chain, pharmacy leadership and operations
Complete an audit summary shortly following audit testing for internal review and delivery to covered entity project sponsors
Utilizing Alinea’s written audit report format, record findings and recommendations for internal review and delivery to covered entity
Create a corrective action plan, working with the covered entity client in assigning appropriate parties to address issues in a timely manner
Conduct an audit wrap up session utilizing preferred client media to communicate audit results, actions taken, and discussion points for program improvement (if applicable)
Perform follow up and client touchpoints to provide ongoing guidance to clients in remediating issues or addressing various factors related to program compliance and performance
Education & Experience:
Bachelors Degree preferred
3+ years of 340B operational experience with strong understanding of 340B in the hospital mixed-use, inpatient pharmacy setting including use and management of split-billing software
Applicants with 340B ACE certification preferred with expectation that 340B ACE certification will be attained (if not already) within 3 months of being hired
Attend 340B Coalition annually, attending available sessions to assist in professional growth, knowledge, and network development
Knowledge for EHR and pharmacy systems, including pharmacy purchasing and inventory management in the hospital setting
Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to 340B and associated billing practices
